February is a month of celebration for the beyond community! This year, we’re proud to be marking not one, not two, but three flexible workspace anniversaries across our spaces in Amsterdam and Berlin. We’re celebrating:
We’ve already made some amazing memories in the short time that these spaces have been open to our wonderful members – here’s to many more!
One year ago, beyond Gouden Bocht opened its doors, bringing a new kind of community to the heart of Amsterdam’s historic (and most-sought-after) Canal District. Nestled in the elegant Herengracht 471, a 17th‑century building, the beyond workspace combines historic charm with contemporary design.
Sunlit interiors, quiet nooks, and collaborative lounges create a setting where focus and creativity have the space to thrive. Since opening, beyond Gouden Bocht has become a destination for Y Combinator startups and global corporates. With plenty of outdoor space (including a beautiful courtyard), and nearby after work spots, moments to recharge and connect with other members are aplenty.
In the year since, we brought unique ways for our members to connect with their colleagues and clients by partnering with Amsterdam Boats – members can now book out canal boats for their next meeting or team dinner cruise.
Speaking of unique ways to move through the city, in December 2025 our collaboration with SELANA – the first legal e-scooters in the Amsterdam – redefined how Amsterdam’s creators, innovators and teams experience the working day, arriving and leaving in style.
Opening in the same month as beyond Gouden Bocht, our flagship German location, beyond Quartier Heidestrasse in Berlin Mitte, also marked its first anniversary. Located just minutes from Berlin’s Central Station, the workspace fills 4,500 m² with modern design, natural light, and over 600 desks. Rooftop terraces, nearby cafés, and cultural attractions make it a vibrant place for connection and creativity.
Since its rooftop launch party, beyond Quartier Heidestrasse has grown into a real community. Members exchange ideas, gather for events, and enjoy surroundings that energise and inspire. That sense of connection was on full display when we launched the first 2025 Fund My Fintech Tour with Techstars, packing the workspace to the brim with attendees. The event featured an expert panel discussion and 40 one-to-one meetings in just one hour. The spectacular design of this beyond location featured in various magazines and made several appearances in TV shows.
beyond Republica Campus celebrates two years in Amsterdam-Noord. The campus blends spacious shared working zones, private offices, and quiet corners with inviting communal spaces.
Over the past two years, beyond Republica Campus has become a hub for ideas, creativity, and connections – we’ve hosted gatherings like Neighbour Day (opening the space to old friends and new for a free shared work day, networking lunch, and wellness hour), a three-day networking and strategy event for TikTok, and we were joined by Estonia’s e-Residency for a keynote and discussions on "Borderless by Design: How to start and run a business 100% in the Estonian startup ecosystem" as part of the 2025 The Next Web conference.
And that’s not all. In June 2024, we hosted the rooftop bar PROVADA party, in collaboration with Bob W. and NORNORM, for over 100 attendees. Then, December 2024 saw beyond Republica Campus hosting ‘The Founder’s Story’ in partnership with Google and Rockstart where we brought together more than 150 founders and CXOs for a day of candid insights, AI-focused discussions, practical scale-up advice, and networking with like-minded innovators.
The space also grew in in the past year with the opening of 50 additional workstations in “The Hotel” building, completing the third phase of the site which now spans 2,000 square metres in three of the development’s six buildings: "The Joker" – a space for dreamers and creatives; "Smart Girl" – an innovative enterprise suite; and brand-new “The Hotel”.
Over the past one and two years, each beyond location has helped build our global community, encourage innovation, and support members with workdays that feel truly meaningful.
As beyond continues to expand across Europe, these anniversaries celebrate not only the spaces themselves but the people and local communities who fill them with energy and life. From canal-side mornings to rooftop gatherings, each place tells its own story – one of collaboration and community.
